The annual book sale traditionally coincided with the Manila International Book Fair, and I was counting on scoring some scorching deals like I had in the past. But when the 2016 MBIF came and went with hardly a hint of National Bookstore matching the book fair with its own much-anticipated booksale, I thought the country’s largest bookstore chain was letting go of a cherished bookselling tradition. From my experience with the National Bookstore Cut Price Book Sale, I can confirm that all books, from the latest bestsellers to adult coloring books, are covered by the sale. Books are tagged with color-coded stickers indicating the discount that will be applied: blue means 10% off, white is 20%, green is 3o%, and red is  whopping 50 percent.
